Through our extensive collection network, we make it easier for this organic waste to be converted into biofuel, a low-carbon energy alternative for transport. For every 20,000 tonnes of used cooking oil that is transformed into biodiesel, up to 51,500 tonnes of CO₂e can be avoided compared to the emissions that would be generated by using fossil fuels for the same function.
CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent) is a unit used to express the impact of greenhouse gases in comparable terms of CO₂ emissions.
According to the default values set by the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED II), biodiesel produced from used cooking oil has 84% lower CO₂e emissions than an equivalent fossil fuel (14.9 gCO₂e/MJ, compared to 94 gCO₂e/MJ), supporting its use as a biofuel and low-carbon energy source
Every litre of used oil we process is a tangible step towards decarbonisation and a more sustainable energy future.
